This is a marathon, not a sprint. That is the first and most important lesson you must absorb if you’re going to start this fitness journey. Once you understand that it’s a marathon, consistency becomes more valuable than perfection, and maintenance more valuable than chasing the “ideal.” When you see this as a lifestyle and not just a temporary change, it frees you to slow down, embrace the process, and stay the course.
Getting in the best shape of your life is about building a system. A system that works for you, that you rinse, wash, and repeat. That’s it. No relying on sheer grit or willpower. Because if we’re honest, that’s where most people fail. Maybe you’ve tried before—cutting out fried foods, meat, carbs, sugar, or processed foods altogether. Did it work long-term? No. Because you were relying on willpower. You need a system. Think about investing—you “set it and forget it.” Over time, it grows. Fitness is the same. If I told you that you had to follow this process for the next two or three years, you’d be fine with it—because you’d actually be enjoying it. That’s the secret.
The next part? You need someone to help you. Without help, it will take you three to five times longer than it should. That was my mistake—I tried to figure it out on my own. And while it’s not impossible, the problem is there are too many voices. Too many mixed messages. Keto vs. no keto. Heavy vs. light lifting. Fast vs. don’t fast. Carbs are bad vs. carbs are good. Cardio vs. no cardio. Everyone is saying something different, and it’s confusing. You need a coach who has walked your path and can guide you.
Invest in yourself. Stop being ashamed of the mirror. Stop dreading vacations, shirts off at the pool, or bathing suits at the beach. Stop comparing yourself to people your age and feeling insecure. You don’t have to live in that cycle anymore. You can stop it. You can change. You deserve to be fit.
I’ve spent most of my life helping people—counseling them, guiding them, walking with them—and I’ve been successful. Now I want to bring that same dedication to fitness and health. Let me walk with you. Let me help you. Let me guide you. Your program won’t look exactly like mine, because it’s individualized for you—but the principles will be the same, and they will work.
Some of you reading this are in a dark place. And remember what I said earlier—doing this alone can take you three to five times longer. Let’s be honest: some of you don’t have that long. Many of you reading this are middle-aged or beyond. You don’t have 10 or 15 years to figure this out. For some of you, you may only have six months before a more chronic illness comes knocking on your door. That’s the reality. And that’s why the urgency matters.
Your health is deteriorating. You can feel it. Maybe you’re waking up at night gasping for air. Maybe you struggle just to reach certain parts of your body in the shower. Maybe you binge alone and hate yourself afterwards. Maybe you’ve lost weight before, only to gain it back—and more. If that’s you, then this message is for you.
Unlike a lot of fitness people, I already have a proven track record in the community. You can look at my work in mental health, helping couples, families, and individuals. As a Christian fitness coach, I can do the same for you in this area. And here’s what you need to know: fitness isn’t just about willpower—it’s about information. It’s about skills. By the grace of God, I learned that my breakthrough came when I gained the right information and put a system in place. That’s what changed me. That’s what will change you. People who are fit aren’t relying on willpower; they actually enjoy it because they’ve built a system that works. And I can give you those principles. I can teach you what to do so it doesn’t take you five, seven, ten years to figure it out.
I used to wonder if I would even live long enough to walk my kids down the aisle. I even convinced myself my genetics made me fat, unhealthy, and destined to stay that way. I tried to make peace with it. But something had to change—and by the grace of God, it did. And now I’m here to give you the information and the system you need to make that same change.
No, your genetics won’t have you looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger or a professional bodybuilder. But that’s not your goal. You want to be lean. You want to feel proud when you look in the mirror. You don’t want to feel shame when you try on clothes. You want to feel good about showing up to events with your partner, or around your kids and their friends, knowing your body reflects a healthy, disciplined lifestyle.
This is your chance. But you need to commit. Don’t commit for one month. Don’t commit for two or three months. Commit for at least a year. Commit to the process. Commit to yourself. That’s how you build a lifestyle.
